This policy explains what information we collect when you use the pallax website and app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The data controller is pallax ltd ("pallax", "we", "us"), 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX.
Payments and purchases
Your purchase is handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. When you buy pallax, Paddle collects the information needed to take payment, such as your name, email address, billing details, and location for tax purposes. We never see or store your card details. Paddle processes this data under its own privacy policy.
From each purchase, we receive limited order information from Paddle, such as your email address, what you bought, and a transaction reference. We use this to deliver your download and to help you if you contact us.
Downloads
To unlock your download, our server checks your Paddle transaction reference with Paddle to confirm the purchase before releasing the file. We don't require you to create an account.
The feedback form
If you use our feedback form, we collect what you choose to send: your message, and optionally your email address, operating system, app version, and any screenshot you attach. This is submitted to and stored in Google (via Google Apps Script and Google Sheets) so we can read it and respond. We use it only to understand and fix issues and to reply to you.
The pallax app
The pallax desktop app runs on your own computer and reads your music library so it can do its job. pallax does not send your music library, your usage, or any analytics or telemetry to us. Information leaves your device only when you choose to: send a bug report through our feedback form, which includes what you type and anything you attach; or export a playlist to YouTube, which sends the details needed to build that playlist to Google (YouTube), handled under Google's own terms.
Hosting
This website and our download delivery run on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes standard technical information (such as IP address and request details) to serve the site securely. Paddle may set cookies during checkout to run the payment process.
Why we use your information
- to deliver the product you bought and provide support (to perform our contract with you);
- to keep records of purchases and comply with legal and tax obligations;
- to fix bugs and improve pallax (our legitimate interest in running the product).
Who we share it with
We share information only with the providers that make pallax work: Paddle (payments), Google (the feedback form, and YouTube playlist export if you use it), and Cloudflare (hosting and download delivery). We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep order and purchase records for as long as needed to support you and to meet legal and accounting requirements. We keep feedback for as long as it's useful to improve pallax.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above.
